New OPEN CALL: Contemporary Art Residencies HABEAS DATA – Imagina and HABEAS DATA – Projeto

Application deadline: October 31, 2026.

This initiative seeks to understand the relations of production in Latin America, establish their contingencies, and foster the formation of networks among producers, researchers, critics, and other agents engaged in contemporary art practices.

Working in art involves designing one’s own narrative, memory, and communication. HABEAS DATA is a research and production residency program focused on developing tools for the professional trajectories of artists, curators, researchers, and other professionals within the Art System.

Since 2016, from the city of São Paulo, we have worked with more than 200 people in supporting their research processes. As part of this work, we have developed diagnoses of more than 140 Local Art Scenes across the continent.

The ways in which art is produced, circulated, and theorized in Latin America are also the result of social, economic, and institutional processes that build capacities for auditing culture and for redesigning traditional institutional devices.

What will we work on together during the residency?

Artwork production and career development strategies.

 Contemporary Art and social processes.

Local Art Scenes and/or Art Management.

  Art Curatorship and/or Publishing.

Art System, Institutional Frameworks and/or Public Policies.

Art economy and market.
