About the Residency<\/strong><\/h3>\n

UNDERSTANDING LATIN AMERICA<\/strong> is a long-term residence held in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil, which discusses contemporary art as a political tool.<\/em><\/p>\n

It takes place in an apartment located in the Copan<\/strong> building, one of the most important and legendary towers of the city, designed by Oscar Niemeyer.<\/p>\n

The initiative is oriented to research visual artists, historians, art researchers, curators, art managers, art teachers, sociologists, anthropologists, and other cultural agents and social science professionals.<\/p>\n

About Uberbau_house<\/h3>\n

Since 2016, Uberbau_house<\/strong><\/em> has been a meeting place for discussion, research, documentation, and reflection on contemporary art in Latin America.<\/p>\n

Uberbau_house<\/strong> gives continuity to the nomadic investigation and activities carried out by Curator\u00eda Forense – Latinoam\u00e9rica<\/em> since 2005<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What do we expect from the residency?<\/h3>\n

During the residence, we create a teaching-learning space based on the exchange of experiences, organization of conceptual frameworks, intensive review of theoretical references, and the management and production of works of art.<\/p>\n

  • Contemporary Art Seminar (2 days)<\/li>\n
  • Tracing and counseling from the coordination team.<\/li>\n
  • Public instances of presentations and conversations about the development of your work. Free access to all activities at Uberbau_house.<\/li>\n
  • Meeting program face-to-face in S\u00e3o Paulo and online with agents all over Latin America: artists, curators, art managers, researchers, and other relevant agents from the scene.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  • Inclusion in online publication and semi-annual research fanzine.<\/li>\n
